How to cancel Canal+

Offers without commitment

1. Sign in at canalplus.com › Espace Client.
2. Open Abonnement, then Mes démarches, then Résilier.
3. Follow the steps and confirm. The channels stay until the end of the monthly period already paid for.
4. Keep the confirmation email. In 2026 the Espace Client also carries a Rétractation button in the footer for the 14-day withdrawal right on a new subscription.

Offers with a 12- or 24-month commitment

1. Find your contract end date (date d’échéance) in the Espace Client.
2. At least 30 days before it, send a cancellation letter with your name, address and subscriber number by registered post with acknowledgment of receipt to: Canal+, Service Résiliation, TSA 86712, 95905 Cergy-Pontoise Cedex 9.
3. Keep the receipt. If the letter arrives late, the contract renews for another year.

If you pay through Apple, Google or an operator box

1. Canal+ bought in the App Store or Google Play is cancelled there.
2. Canal+ added to an Orange, Free, SFR or Bouygues box is on the operator’s contract; cancel it in the operator’s customer area.

Before you cancel

Notice period

Without commitment: none, the offer runs to the end of the month. With commitment: written notice at least 30 days before the end of the 12- or 24-month term, otherwise the contract renews for a year.

Refunds

No refund of the current month. A committed offer ended early is due for the whole remaining term, except in the legal cases (moving abroad, death, serious service failure) with proof.

Worth knowing

• The date d’échéance is not the day you signed up: it is the anniversary of the offer. Check it in the Espace Client before counting back 30 days.
• An email or phone call is not enough for a committed offer; only the registered letter counts.
• The 100% Canal+ sans engagement offer launched in September 2026 is monthly, but it does not work through operator boxes.
• Canal+ Ciné Séries bundles Netflix, Paramount+ and Max: those end with it, and you cannot keep one on its own.

Your rights in the EU

In France, the loi Chatel obliges Canal+ to remind you of the renewal date before the cancellation deadline; if that reminder does not arrive, you can cancel free of charge at any time after the renewal. The 14-day withdrawal right applies to a subscription taken online or by phone.

These apply in most EU countries on top of whatever the service’s own terms say. The detail varies by country, so treat this as the floor, not the full picture.

• 14 days to change your mind. For most contracts you sign online you have 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason. For a digital service you start using straight away, the seller can ask you to give up that right at checkout, which is what the tick-box you clicked past was for, or charge you for the part you used.
• Auto-renewal has to be clear. A service that renews automatically has to tell you so before you sign up, including how long each renewal lasts and what it costs. Some countries go further: in Germany, a contract signed since March 2022 can only renew indefinitely if you can then cancel monthly, and notice periods are capped at one month. France, Austria, Romania and Sweden require a separate reminder before a renewal.
• A cancel button, in Germany. If you signed up online with a company selling in Germany, its website has to carry a clearly labelled cancellation button since July 2022, and cancelling has to be as easy as signing up was. Across the EU, an equivalent withdrawal function for the 14-day right became mandatory on 19 June 2026.
• Keep the confirmation. Cancel through the account page or the official form rather than by replying to a no-reply address, screenshot the confirmation, and keep the email. If a charge lands after that date, the confirmation is what gets it reversed.
