How to cancel McFIT

1. Open mcfit.com and use the Mitgliedschaft kündigen link in the footer; it opens a cancellation form on hilfe.mcfit.com that works without logging in.
2. Enter your name, membership number and the words ‘zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt’ (at the next possible date), then submit.
3. Save the confirmation page and the email that follows. McFIT has to confirm the cancellation and the end date in text form.

By email, fax or post

1. Write a short cancellation with your full name, address, date of birth and membership number, cancelling at the next possible date.
2. Send it to [email protected], or by registered post to RSG Group GmbH, McFIT Kündigungszentrale, Tannenberg 4, 96132 Schlüsselfeld. Keep the receipt.
3. If no confirmation arrives within two weeks, send it again and note both dates.

Before you cancel

Notice period

One month before the end of the minimum term (12 months on most tariffs). Contracts signed since March 2022 then run indefinitely and can be ended with one month’s notice; older contracts may still renew in blocks.

Refunds

No refund of the remaining term. Fees already debited for the notice period are not returned.

Worth knowing

• Moving house is not a valid reason to end a gym contract early; the Federal Court ruled on that in 2016. Long-term illness or injury with a doctor’s note, and pregnancy, are.
• A fee increase gives you a short window (usually 4–6 weeks) to object and leave early.
• The email address for cancellations has changed more than once; if an email bounces, use the button or registered post.
• Pausing the membership extends it by the paused time. It does not shorten anything.

Your rights in the EU

McFIT sells contracts online in Germany, so mcfit.com has to carry a working cancellation button (§ 312k BGB). If it is missing or fails, you can cancel without any notice period; screenshot what you saw. Contracts signed since March 2022 cannot renew for more than one month at a time after the first term.

These apply in most EU countries on top of whatever the service’s own terms say. The detail varies by country, so treat this as the floor, not the full picture.

• 14 days to change your mind. For most contracts you sign online you have 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason. For a digital service you start using straight away, the seller can ask you to give up that right at checkout, which is what the tick-box you clicked past was for, or charge you for the part you used.
• Auto-renewal has to be clear. A service that renews automatically has to tell you so before you sign up, including how long each renewal lasts and what it costs. Some countries go further: in Germany, a contract signed since March 2022 can only renew indefinitely if you can then cancel monthly, and notice periods are capped at one month. France, Austria, Romania and Sweden require a separate reminder before a renewal.
• A cancel button, in Germany. If you signed up online with a company selling in Germany, its website has to carry a clearly labelled cancellation button since July 2022, and cancelling has to be as easy as signing up was. Across the EU, an equivalent withdrawal function for the 14-day right became mandatory on 19 June 2026.
• Keep the confirmation. Cancel through the account page or the official form rather than by replying to a no-reply address, screenshot the confirmation, and keep the email. If a charge lands after that date, the confirmation is what gets it reversed.
