How to cancel Sky Deutschland

On the web

1. Sign in at sky.de › Mein Sky, or open the Abo beenden link in the footer of sky.de, which leads to the online cancellation form.
2. Choose Abo beenden (end subscription), not Infos zur Kündigung, which only shows information.
3. Fill in the form: name, address, customer number, and the date you want the contract to end (the earliest is the end of the current term).
4. Download or screenshot the confirmation page and keep Sky’s confirmation email. Without it, you have no proof.

By email or post

1. Write a short cancellation with your full name, address and customer number, stating you cancel at the next possible date, and send it to Sky’s cancellation address given on sky.de or by registered post with return receipt.
2. Sky is obliged to confirm in text form. If nothing arrives within a week, send it again and note the dates.

Before you cancel

Notice period

One month before the end of the 12-month term. After the first term the contract runs indefinitely and can be ended with one month’s notice at any time.

Refunds

No refund for the remaining term. The 14-day withdrawal right applies to a contract signed online or by phone.

Worth knowing

• Sky’s own cancellation button was found unlawful by the Landgericht München I in July 2026 because one of its two buttons led nowhere. If the button does not let you cancel, § 312k BGB gives you the right to cancel without any notice period; document what you saw.
• Since July 2026 Sky sells 12-month contracts only. Older 24-month contracts still run to their end.
• A price that rises after 13 months is written into the offer. The rise itself is not a reason for special termination.
• Add-ons bought through Sky (Netflix, DAZN, Paramount+) end with the Sky contract or need their own cancellation; check Mein Sky.

Your rights in the EU

German law (§ 312k BGB) requires Sky to offer a clearly labelled cancellation button that works. If it is missing or broken, you can cancel at any time without notice. Contracts signed since March 2022 cannot renew for another fixed year: after the first term they run monthly.

These apply in most EU countries on top of whatever the service’s own terms say. The detail varies by country, so treat this as the floor, not the full picture.

• 14 days to change your mind. For most contracts you sign online you have 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason. For a digital service you start using straight away, the seller can ask you to give up that right at checkout, which is what the tick-box you clicked past was for, or charge you for the part you used.
• Auto-renewal has to be clear. A service that renews automatically has to tell you so before you sign up, including how long each renewal lasts and what it costs. Some countries go further: in Germany, a contract signed since March 2022 can only renew indefinitely if you can then cancel monthly, and notice periods are capped at one month. France, Austria, Romania and Sweden require a separate reminder before a renewal.
• A cancel button, in Germany. If you signed up online with a company selling in Germany, its website has to carry a clearly labelled cancellation button since July 2022, and cancelling has to be as easy as signing up was. Across the EU, an equivalent withdrawal function for the 14-day right became mandatory on 19 June 2026.
• Keep the confirmation. Cancel through the account page or the official form rather than by replying to a no-reply address, screenshot the confirmation, and keep the email. If a charge lands after that date, the confirmation is what gets it reversed.
